Brave Voices

Our first ever Brave Voices event was everything we hoped it would be and more.

Hosted at the iconic Starry Plough in Berkeley, the night was filled with music, poetry, storytelling, and raw, heartfelt self-expression. The space was energized by emotion and creative energy as local artists took to the mic and bravely shared their voices. From original songs and spoken word pieces to deeply personal stories, every performance reminded us why we do this work. This wasn’t just about performance. It was about showing up for each other. And show up, you did.

Thanks to your love and generosity, we raised $500 in support of our friend and Oakland-based mixed media artist, Lily(@lilysolstudio). Lily pours her soul into her work, creating art that speaks to healing, identity, and resilience. The funds raised will go directly toward helping her continue her artistic practice and sustain her voice in the community.

We created Brave Voices to hold space for vulnerability, connection, and celebration of expression in all its forms. What we witnessed that night was community magic: strangers cheering each other on, new friendships forming, and an overwhelming sense that art truly has the power to heal and unite.
