YOUR BRAIN ON ART
YOUR BRAIN ON ART

At Creative Pathways Collective, we believe that art is more than just a fun activity—it’s a powerful tool for learning, healing, and connection. That’s why we’re excited to offer a new series of kid-centered art workshops rooted in creativity, curiosity, and care.

Research highlighted in Your Brain on Art shows that simple creative activities, like doodling, humming, or painting can make a real difference in how we feel. In just twenty minutes, these actions can lower stress, boost feel-good chemicals in the brain, and help us process emotions in healthy ways. For kids especially, art can be a way to work through big feelings they may not yet have words for.

But the benefits go even deeper. When children engage in art and play, they’re not just having fun, they’re building strong cognitive foundations. Movement, color, sound, and storytelling activate multiple areas of the brain at once, supporting attention, memory, emotional regulation, and problem-solving. Art encourages imagination and adaptability, helping children develop the executive function skills that support lifelong learning.

Our upcoming workshops invite children to explore freely in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. Through hands-on projects like collage, drawing, and collaborative storytelling, we’ll offer space for self-expression, connection, and quiet joy. We center play as a key part of the process, not just as a break from learning, but as a kind of learning all its own.

Whether a child is feeling anxious, curious, overwhelmed, or excited, art can help them find grounding. It gives them tools to better understand themselves and the world around them. And just as importantly, it helps them feel seen and supported by a caring community.

We’d love to have your family join us.
